Tompkins Tax Questions Need Assessment and Finance Routes Separated

Tompkins County separates assessment, tax-rate, tax-roll, and property-payment information across assessment and finance pages.

Published June 24, 2026 · Last verified June 24, 2026

Tompkins County uses different routes for assessment facts and payment facts. The Assessment page links to the parcel search, tax maps, assessment rolls, and tax rates. It has town and county rates as well as school rates. It also links to town, county, and village tax rolls.

Finance gives the payment steps. Those include online payment and drop-box details.

Write down the town or city, school district, bill year, and type of question. If the issue is a parcel, assessment roll, tax map, or rate, use the Assessment route and match the correct roll or rate. If the issue is how or where to pay, use the Finance route.

Keep the parcel result, matching roll or rate, bill, Finance directions, payment confirmation, and receipt together. Do not use a school rate to answer a town or county bill question.
