Saratoga DBA Filings Need Clerk Records Check
Saratoga business-name filings go to the County Clerk, with a public-records search recommended before filing.

The Saratoga County Clerk files assumed-name certificates, also called DBAs. Search the public records first to see whether the name is in use. The clerk has forms to change or end a filing. It also lists the charges for a new certificate, amended certificate, certified copy, and discontinuance.
Choose the new, amendment, or discontinuance form. Bring cash, check, or money order. Credit and debit cards are not accepted.
Keep the name search, form, charge, payment, filed certificate, and certified copies together. Use the amendment form for a change and the discontinuance form when the business ends.
