Rensselaer Delinquent Tax Search Starts With Bureau of Finance

Rensselaer owners can check paid and unpaid parcel taxes online, but Troy and some village levies need separate collector checks.

Rensselaer County delinquent-tax checks start with the Bureau of Finance. The county posts paid and unpaid property-tax information for county parcels. It also flags limits: City of Troy parcels are outside that lookup, and some villages show county and town taxes but not village levies. Current-year taxes are with town collectors from January through March.

A late bill may need the town, village, or county route depending on timing. Start with the county portal and parcel SBL number. Keep the bill, tax year, lookup result, village-tax question, current balance, Finance answer, and receipt together. If the lookup does not match the bill, call before paying.
