A Missing Queens Car Starts With the Tow Lookup
If your car disappears in Queens, use the official lookup, allow up to two hours for an entry, then contact the precinct if it is still missing.

When a car vanishes from a Queens curb, start with New York City’s tow lookup. A car may have been towed for illegal parking, taken by a Marshal or Sheriff for judgment debt, or moved nearby for construction, filming, or a street event.
Search with the plate number, state, and plate type. It may take up to two hours for a tow to appear. If less than two hours have passed, check again later. If more than two hours have passed and the car is still missing, contact the police precinct where it was parked.
The lookup can show where the car is, who towed it, and the cost to get it back. Use the Department of Finance system when parking or camera judgment debt is part of the tow. A relocated car may instead be sitting on a nearby block, and the local precinct is the route for that check.
Write down the plate, state, exact parking spot, nearby signs, and the time you last saw the car. If it appears in the lookup, follow the listed next step. If it does not, those details give the precinct a clear place and time to check.
