Greene County property tax payment can depend on timing. The county treasurer page says that after January, the current tax year is still payable with interest to the town tax collector until July 31, and residents should contact the local town collector for the amount due during that period. After July 31, unpaid taxes are passed to the Greene County Treasurer’s Office as delinquent.
The same county page lists payment methods for delinquent taxes, including checks, in-person options, and phone payments by e-check, credit card, or debit card. The next check is the date and the correct collector.
Check the calendar before paying. Keep the bill, parcel or account number, current amount due, collector name, payment method, and receipt together. Through July 31, confirm the amount with the town collector; after that date, confirm the delinquent balance with the county Treasurer.
