Broome Real Property Helps Explain the Tax System

Broome owners should use Real Property Tax Service for assessment-system help, not as a substitute for the local assessor.

Published June 24, 2026 · Last verified June 24, 2026

Broome County Real Property Tax Service helps many parts of the tax system. It works with county offices, local governments, assessors, school districts, taxpayers, attorneys, and real estate workers.

It is not a one-stop appeal office. If an assessment, exemption, or grievance is the problem, identify the local assessor and the filing date that applies. If the problem is a tax balance or payment, use the Treasurer route instead.

Open the county page with the parcel address, town or city, notice, exemption question, and deadline in hand. Find the office for that exact job, then ask what record or filing comes next. Keep the office name, answer, and any deadline with the parcel file.
