Bronx OATH Hearings Can Be Rescheduled

A Bronx OATH summons should be handled from the hearing date backward. A person should respond on or before the hearing date on the summons, and a missed response can lead to a default finding and a higher fine. The online reschedule form is the easiest way to request a new date before the scheduled hearing, with mail as another route. If the date was missed, OATH says a new hearing request filed within 75 days of the missed hearing date will be granted, subject to its rules.

Keep the summons number, hearing date, reschedule request, and confirmation together. If the hearing date has already passed, write down the missed date and use OATH’s hearing-and-default instructions for the new-hearing request.
