For work on an Albany property, start with the city’s Buildings and Regulatory Compliance office. The city also has a Citizen Self Service portal, BRC forms, and BRC information sheets.
Use those city sources for repairs, renovations, occupancy issues, or code follow-up. Have the property address and a short description of the job ready. Ask BRC which form to file and whether the job needs an inspection.
Keep the address with the permit, account, ticket, or other city record. If BRC sends part of the job to a county or state office, write down that office’s name. Confirm which office handles each part before work starts.
